Garfield meets Odie at the site where Odie’s mother was killed, during the October full moon mission. He had no intention of resisting to Odie’s attempt to extract revenge, but he warns Odie that if he continues, he could end up just like him. The two are interrupted by Takaya while Odie struggles to go through with his plan. Takaya takes a shot at Odie and Garfield jumps in front of the bullet, taking his own life. This final sacrifice earns Odie’s respect and inspires John’s resolve. Later the members of SEES discover that the drugs Garfield was taking were slowly killing him
